MAC Good Luck Trolls Collection

I am so excited to bring you a few pieces from the MAC Good Luck Trolls Collection!

I fought with myself over weather I should by everything or only just some select products that really caught my eye. I decided that because of all the makeup that keeps coming out, I was just going to get a select things that really caught my eyes, and bring them to you here with swatches and all my unasked for opinions.
Stick around to the end to see some photos of a super simple fresh look I created with these products. Also please let me know what else you would like to see here or youtube.
So has I was browsing the website, it took all that I had to not scoop everything up for its packaging alone, I don't think that I have ever seen cuter packaging. Maybe its just because I was born in the 80's. All the bright colors and and sturdy plastic packaging was just calling my name left and right, but I held firm looking for those few special Trolls that I just had to have!

Beauty Powder~
I am going to start with the product that I was super excited about and could not wait to touch so that I could feel it and see what it would look like. There were 2 different beauty powders to choose from. The stunning pink plastic packaging with an adorable teal troll on the front was hollering my name, so I said ok, ok calm down you can come home to me. It is the Beauty Powder in "Play it Proper". I can only describe it as a skin toned peach powder, with a luminosity to it. Not glitter just slight shine. The packaging is sturdy with a opal iridescence to it that just makes me so happy to have it and to look at it.I like to use this powder as a natural sheen to the face when used lightly. You can also lightly powder whole face with it to get a light glow from with in look.

I only grabbed 1 eye shadow from this collection, but it was so very hard to do, but when I looked really closely at all 5 shades this one seemed to me the most unique. I chose "Paradisco",  it is described as "Bright pinkycoral with pearl [Frost]", but I can't say that is an accurate description of this color it defiantly leans towards the orange shade in the pan. When I look at it I see orange sherbet, with a slight yellow/gold shift. With a swatch or on the lid it is defiantly more on the peach side. This makes a great one and done shade for a nice tanned summer day or a great crease blendy color for a full glam look.

There were 4 shades of lipstick to choose from and I just could not make that decision, so I decided to pink the one with my favorite name, and the winner was "Dance off Pants off" This shade is described as Frosted hot pink [Frost]. I do not think that I could describe this any better than that. I mean it is for sure Frosted and Pink! The frost almost looks like it has purple in it and it goes on the lips super smooth and creamy. I love this formula and think that it would flatter many skin tons, again looks great with a bit of a tan.

With 3 lipglasses to choose from, I went with the one that was most out of my box, and it turns out that I love it. I bought "Twerkqoise", which is described as "Transparent sky blue with fine pink reflect" This is a very accurate description of this color and it looks great in the center of any lip. My favorites to go with this gloss are pink and purple hues. This Shade just brings out so muc dimension in those shades and I find myself using it way more than I thought I would. It wears and feels good on the lips. Typical stickiness of a MAC Lipglass.

Other pieces in the collection are 3 glitters, a pigment, 2 colored hair sprays, and a face brush.
The packaging is so cute I wish I ordered the brush. I might have to do that soon, though I have so many brushes.

I am extremely happy with my purchase and they will be used and loved a lot. As of the writing of this all products are still available on Mac's website.. Grab it while you can...
I also snagged some Star Trek items so look forward to that soon!

Foundation Friday Round Up ~ April 2016

Hello my beautiful friends, I am so glad that you are here.
So as you may or may not know I've started a new series on Youtube, known as foundation Friday. Those are where I wear a foundation for a whole day, showing you the application as well as check in thru the day. I have decided that on the last Friday of each month I will make a blog post to add to my thoughts from those videos with things that I discovered from wearing the foundation more than once. Since sometimes things come up and your opinion can change after wearing something for a few days or even weeks. So that is what Foundation Friday Round Up will be centered around.
As we move on I will be ranking these in top 10 fashion for both drug store and high end!!! See where you favorite foundation stacks up and let me know which foundation you would like to see me try next!

So let's begin, and we will start at the very beginning, a very good place to start!

 Younique Mineral Foundation  ~
This is a foundation that has been making the rounds in videos on facebook, for being able to cover up sharpie on the face. I was not brave enough to put sharpie on my face, but I did test it on my hand. As I'm sure you already know it did not cover up the sharpie!! A friend of mine, my younique dealer Kayla said that a lot of people got in trouble for saying that it was covering up sharpie, because in fact what it was doing was breaking down the pigment in the sharpie and essentially erasing it, and had I buffed more it would have taken the sharpie away. I have not tested this theory out yet but I think I will and will update you on Instagram. Either way that is false advertising that some of these presenters are doing, because it does not cover it up it breaks it down. What they are trying to show it that it will cover up anything, when in fact it won't. If it is only breaking up the sharpie then it certainly isn't going to cover up bright skin discolorations because it will not be able to break up the pigments in those. Does that make sense? I think my fingers work faster than my brain sometimes.
I have worn this foundation quite a few times and I do still really like it, though I do think that it  can be a bit gimmicky, because all of the hype that certain presenters have drummed up on social media. It's a good foundation, with great buildable coverage. It is light weight, and comes in a good range of colors. I think that it is best applied with a dense brush like the RT sculpting brush!

L'Oreal True Match Lumi  ~

I realize that this is not a new foundation, but it was to me and I really really enjoyed this foundation. This as well is a light weight foundation, with medium to medium/full buildable coverage. The luminosity that you get from this foundation is perfectly subtle and I still feel that those with oily skin could easily wear this foundation. Overall so far this is my favorite I have tried in a long time from the drugstore. I hear that the cushion version of this foundation is just as good if not better. I have yet to try any cushion foundations, but I think I might ought to try this one. What do you all think? Have you tried this foundation?

HOLY GIMMICK BATMAN!! Can we say wow. I bought this because of the crazy looking applicator. I mean come on it looks like a dogs tongue, as I demonstrate in the video. Lol you know me always out for a laugh! I wore this foundation on 3 more occasions and decided that I was not a huge fan. Once the novelty of the applicator wore off I decided that it takes way to long to blend out this foundation with the applicator and it just seems to sit on the skin and stays tacky, even after apply powder.   I tried apply this foundation with both a beauty sponge(RT) as well as my RT sculpting brush and though the application does go faster and it blends easier it still stays tacky and splotchy. It also does not wear well, my pores seem to even look bigger after a while. I'm sure as we add more drugstore foundations this one will move down the list pretty quickly. Did you try this one? What were your thoughts? I plan on taking it back, it was just bad for me.

Kat Von D Lock It ~
Come on guys what can I say about this one. I LOVE IT! This is a HIGH coverage foundation that spreads like a dream. It lasts all day every time I have worn it, which has been quite a bit this week. It is however a thick formula, I have found that if I want a little thinner consistency I add a pump or two of my moisturizer and the coverage and lasting power remains, but the consistency is thinner. All I really have to say about this foundation is that I love it even more now than I did in the wear test. I lurve this foundation and it will take quite a bit to knock it down a peg in my book. What are your thoughts on this foundation? Do you love it as much as I do? Is it to thick for you? Have you tried thinning it out with your moisturizer?

Urban Decay | Gwen Stefani | Swatches | Look

Details on this look below

I was so excited when my hubby came home from work one night (around Valentine's Day) with the Gwen Stefani eye and blush palettes from Urban Decay. He knew that I had been eyeing them. It was such a surprise and I am loving the looks that I am getting out of them both. These shadows and blushes are super pigmented and creamy; they blend out perfectly. The shadow pallette has a nice mix of colors with plenty of neutral/mattish shades to really pull a look together. Which is not usually indicative of Urban Decay palettes.

The packaging on these is so very stunning!

L'Oreal Revitalift Skin Care Routine & Review

Hello beauties, if you happen to have seen my unboxing recently on youtube you know that I have been trying out the L'Oreal Revitalift line.

My L'Oreal products chillin' in the blizzard!

I was super excited when I heard that I was chosen to do this review for a number of reasons!  I love L'Oreal, and any of you ladies who know me know that. From make-up & skin care to hair products. My holy grail hair treatment is the L'Oreal Total Repair 5, it's amazing if you haven't tried it you are missing out!
Anyway back to the products at hand... I'll start with the names and claims of each product then let you know what I think of them so far.
My first impression when I opened the box was that the packaging is awesome, but the best one packaging wise is the Concentrated Serum! It is sleek and clean with a really neat (did I just say that) way to dispense the product onto your fingers!

Isn't that awesome! I just love it and as you can see I was super excited about it when I saw the packaging and how it was going to work! I just wish the eye serum worked that same way because it is a fantastic way to dispense product like that!! I love the consistency of the daily moisturizer but I wish that it came in packaging like the night serum, because I hate tubs that expect you to stick your fingers into the product! Eww!

RevitaLift Volume Filler Daily Moisturizer MSRP $24.99

The Claims:

Infused with a high dose of purified Hyaluronic Acid.
Boosts skin moisture retention.
Visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
Our 1st Daily Volumizing Skincare.
Restores skin's natural fullness for a more youthful look.
See improvement on cheekbones, under-eye and wrinkles.

Dermatologists’ latest approach to anti-aging is not just about chasing after lines and wrinkles, it's about replenishing skin's volume. Some Important Information:

What is Hyaluronic acid you ask and what does it do for my skin? Well I asked the same question and as always my girl Maria came to my rescue.
I did a little research and knew that it was great for holding moisture, but that about where my research stopped. I have to get better at that. Maria told me to mosy on over to her blog Agape Love Designs and have a look at one of her recent posts.
So to answer the above questions.
Evidently Hyaluronic acid is something that we already carry in our skin, and improves skins moisture. It is not a harsh acid as the name suggests, but a natural substance that we can lose over time, So replacing it keeps skin looking young, supple and plump.
For the full article please head over to Maria's post to learn more from the source.
I didn't know but this will explain a lot when we get to the my thoughts portion of the post! Hang in there.

My Routine:

I love skin care and although I do forget to do all the steps quite often, and I do my best! Some is better than none right, When I wake up in the morning I just use a makeup wipe to cleanse my face, as I do the heavy duty scrubbing at night. Next I use my Clinique toner, Now onto the Revitalift, starting with the eye serum, I apply that to my fingers, and gently dab all around my orbital bone and lid area until the product has soaked into my skin. I follow that with the daily concentrated serum, which is the one in the video above with the super awesome packaging, and gently tap that into the skin. Rose water! I love Rose water, I use it all the time. So I just spritz my face and then follow up with the Daily Moisturizer. I then wait a few minutes to make sure everything has soaked into my skin and apply whatever make up I am going to wear for that day.

After a long day running my kids all over God's creation, filming, blogging, and business matters it is finally time to wash the day off and jump into my PJ's to do a bit of editing, tv watching with a glass of Mommy Juice or a nice hot cup of tea! I begin my night time routine by soaking off my eye makeup with the Estée Lauder 'Take It Away' Makeup Remover (this stuff just melts the makeup off). I follow that with a O'ology makeup wipe to get the majority of the cake off my face. There is a facial wash in this line, but that was not set to me; I have been using my ride or die, the Clinique mild liquid facial soap and the Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush to cleanse my face.
After patty dry, gently I again apply my toner and a few spritzes of Rose water. Then I repeat the steps from the am;
~L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Volume Filler Eye Treatment, 0.5 Fluid Ounce
~L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Volume Filler Daily Concentrated Serum, 0.5 Fluid Ounce
~L'Oreal Paris Skin Care RevitaLift Volume Filler Daily Volumizing Moisturizer, 1.7 Ounce
Followed again by another spritz of Heritage Rose Water with Atomizer, told you I love this stuff!
Now its time for me to do my night time stuff whatever it maybe. I keep the L'Oreal Paris Skin Care Revitalift Volume Filler Night Cream, 2 Fluid Ounce on my nightstand and apply it right before I go to sleep.

My Thoughts:

I definitely feel results since using these products but don't really see much, but after reading about Hyaluronic acid why that is makes more sense to me now. I will post before and after pics for you, but I don't think that you will see a difference. First of all I really don't have any wrinkles, I mean a few fine lines yeah, but nothing overly noticeable. The difference is defiantly in the touch. My skin is defianlty more hydrated, it is soft and supple to the touch and seems that there is more elasticity to the skin as it does feel a bit firmer. I am crediting the Hyaluronic acid in this, after reading what it does for the skin it makes sense what I am experiencing with the results. Now someone with more fine lines and wrinkles maybe able to attest to how that works but I just do not have them to tell you.
As with all skin care regimes, your mileage may very depending on your type of skin and may other factors. This is just what I noticed with my skin while using these products and I definitely plan to keep using them.

The Results:

If you have any questions or what to see for yourself check out the hashtag #AskSkinExpert on any social media platform.

**There is also a Revitalift Cream Cleanser that I wish that I had been sent as well. I looked all over my area for it but could not find it, so while doing this review I did use my go to Clinique face wash and brush. The only other products I used while conducting my review was a spot treatment for acne as needed. While I was looking for the cleanser I did come across the L'Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfecter Serum Concentrate on clearance for $5, so I am super excited to try that as well, being my pores are the size of the Grand Canyon.

I received these item free for consideration from Influenster, but opinions are my own. I am a brutally honest person and always give you a 100% authentic review.

Valentine's Look Collab ft. Naked 3

Makeup Monday
I recently was watching old videos and watch the swap videos that Maria and I did. Not only did I dye laughing at my shenanigans but at her adorable face when she saw the palettes that I got her. She is so damn adorable. Watching those made me want to do something with Maria for my return to youtube. So we chatted and decided that we would do a Valentine's Day Collab using a throwback palette. What better throwback palette for Valentine's Day then the Naked 3. We also added some lip options for you, one being more natural and the other a bold lip.
Click below if you would like to watch our Swap Videos, I promise you will laugh!
My Video
Maria's Video

So without further ado, lets get into the detail of the look. I will link the video below if you would like to see step, by step. It's a long one cause I went into detail, lol.

Since I have hooded eyes I wanted to show you hooded eye ladies a great look that shows all of the beautiful shadow work that you do on your mobile lid. Many of us never get to see the shadows that are on our lid, because our hood covers it, but with this one little trick you can make sure that lid color peeks thru.

I used a cut crease with this tutorial, but a very everyday wearable one that is soft and blended. This technique makes a false lid that is higher that your actual one. There for when you fill in below the cut crease you see the color that has been applied to the lid.
I love a cut crease, but they are not everyday wearable for some people so this softened cut crease is for you. It is very hard to describe what I did to create this look, so I am just going to embed the video so that you can see it step by step. It is a rather long video because there was so much that I wanted to tell you, so thumbs up if you make it to the end.

Long Time No See

Hello ladies and gentlemen! It has been a while and I have so much to update you on!! Last year got crazy fast and something had to give. Since family comes first it had to be my blog and youtube channel, and though that upset me a bit it was what was best for me and my family. As you know I have 3 daughters. Yeah I know Lord give me strength, and to make matters worse they are all blonde haired and blue eyed.
Bailey (16), thinks she knows everything of course
Taylor (12), at the stage of life where she hates me and has a chip on her
shoulder about everything
Catherine (9), going on 30. She is a competition dancer and a total Diva
for 9 years old!

12/24/15~ Headed to Nashville to spend Christmas with my
parents at the Opryland Hotel!
Last time I posted on here was May 2014, but I had moved over to my own domain then and blogged for about another year there. But has things were getting crazy I decided not to renew my domain so all those posts are lost as far as I know.
It would take forever to update you on everything all at once so I just give you the cliff notes version.
I'll start when I made my last youtube video on June 16th.
In June my daughter had her dance showcase where she danced 3 dances in one night and was awesome. Then 4th of July week we headed to Branson. MO for Nationals!

We were there for 5 days and there was tons of stuff to do with dance and we tried to squeeze in some sightseeing as well. The experiences that Catherine got that week will last a lifetime!!
Some of her favorites were being able to learn from Ade Obayomi at the Midnight Madness dance for a cure. Then she competed in the Top Gun auditions, alas she was one of the first cut, but it was her first Nationals and she hung pretty well with these kids that had been dancing for 10+ years. I was very proud of her.
In case you didn't already know my oldest (Bailey) moved out to live with her aunt a few years ago and she moved back in with is after Easter! We are so excited to have her home. She is on the competition archery team at school and it looks like we might make it to state. So there is more traveling for me this year on top of dance competitions.
Taylor is also on the archery team (Middle school) and is getting better everyday, it won't belong til she joins Bailey on the archery team!

This year Catherine has her first ever solo, and small group and a Large group dance. So it will be another busy year with dance and archery, but I love keeping busy and enjoying time with my children and watching them blossom at something they enjoy!

Tiffany Beauty 101 Plans for the New Year
I have lots of plans for the youtube channel and this blog. I have organized my life with my Erin Condren planner, so hopefully it will help me balance out everything that I have to do between:

In No Particular Order:

  • Kids school
  • Archery Practice
  • Dance Classes (4 a week)
  • Archery Competitions
  • Dance Competitions
  • Work
  • Youtube
  • Blog
  • Family
  • Me Time

Whew 2016 is going to be a crazy year and on top of all that I got an 11 week old puppy to train that  I have to pack with me everywhere until he is old enough and can be trusted to be left home alone.
This is Duke!!
His Tshirt says Insert Snacks Here
he is an adorable mess!

With all that said I am not promising an upload schedule as I just can not predict which days I will be able to film edit and upload on any given week. I do promise to upload as much as I can with out losing quality. I would much rather have less videos with better quality then more videos that are rushed and crap! Here on the blog I am hoping to post at least once a week. Some will be corresponding posts to youtube videos and others will be separate. I hope that you enjoy it here and come back often. Please leave comments below as I would love to interact with you! Lets make this a place where we can chat and become friends and a helpful community for all that use it.
I have 3 new Videos up on My YouTube Channel if you Would like to catch up a little there.
